Meet the Canoga Park Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Canoga Park

The crew working Canoga Park and the west Valley didn’t get assembled by an algorithm. Adrian Vance hired every one of them the slow way, usually after seeing them work a job he was called in to fix. What unites the team is a shared impatience with gate work that doesn’t hold up: they name the part, name the failure, name what they did about it, document it, and move on. A few of them came from commercial access control, a couple from fabrication shops, one from a competitor that cut corners they refused to cut. All of them hand you a written price before touching a wrench.

Our People

Miguel R. – Lead Technician

Miguel has been with Vance Gate Repair since 2017, the year Adrian stopped taking every service call himself and started building a crew he could trust with the brand’s name. Miguel came up through commercial gate automation, which means he’s the guy we send when a Viking or FAAC operator is behaving in ways that don’t match the wiring diagram. He holds the factory training certifications for LiftMaster and DoorKing, and he’s the reason our photo-eye alignments get documented to the degree. Outside of work, Miguel rebuilds vintage Honda motorcycles, a hobby that makes him unreasonably patient with seized hardware and stripped threads.

Sarah T. – Service Coordinator

Sarah is the first voice you hear when you call at 2 a.m. with a gate that won’t close and a dog that knows it. She’s been coordinating service calls for gate and garage door companies since 2015 and joined Vance in 2019. Sarah’s job is to get a technician to your property with a name, a photo, and an arrival window you can actually plan around. She also reviews every job record before it’s filed, which means the documentation you receive has already been checked twice for accuracy. Sarah keeps a running list of every gate brand she’s ever scheduled a repair for, and she can usually tell you over the phone whether your problem sounds like a limit switch or a capacitor.

David K. – Welding & Fabrication Specialist

David handles the metalwork side of gate repair in Canoga Park: broken hinge mounts, cracked posts, weld failures on cantilever gates, and the kind of rust damage that looks cosmetic until it isn’t. He spent eight years in a structural fabrication shop before Adrian hired him in 2018, and he’s certified in MIG and TIG welding. David is the one who cuts out the failed section, welds in the replacement, grinds it smooth, and photographs the finished work from three angles so you can see exactly what was done. He’s also the first to tell you when a gate isn’t worth welding again, and he’ll show you the metal fatigue that made him say so.

Chris P. – Apprentice Technician

Chris is the newest member of the team, though “apprentice” undersells the two years of low-voltage wiring experience he brought with him when he started in 2024. He rides with Miguel on most calls, handles the photo documentation, and is learning the service patterns for all nine automation brands we stock parts for. Chris is the reason every visit includes a photo log of what was found before and after the repair, because he’s the one holding the camera. He grew up in the west Valley and can navigate Canoga Park and Winnetka side streets without looking at a map, which matters more than you’d think when a gate’s stuck open at 6 a.m.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard isn’t a slogan the Canoga Park team hangs on a van. It’s three commitments that show up in the paperwork: a written price before any work starts, a documented photo record on every visit, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise that means if the repair doesn’t hold, we make it right within a year at no additional charge. Every technician carries the same clause requirements on their tablet. Adrian’s rule from day one was simple: if a technician wouldn’t hand the documentation to their own mother, it doesn’t leave the job site. That’s the standard. One team, one process, no exceptions.
